Okay i saved up enough money for a new laptop and i want the apple macbook pro. or the alienware gaming computer.Alos the netbooks look nice and cool but have a short battery life. any input ill help. just throw out laptop suggestions. to help me decide.thank u

Interesting. You're contrasting a macbook pro, an alienware laptop, and a netbook? This is like contrasting a Mercedes Benz, a Ferrari, and a Scion.

i wanna be able to watch movies, listen to music, play games, and do like worddocuments for school. I dont need other programs like photoshop and stuff just the basics

In my opinion the Alienware and the Macbook are overkill for you. If portability is a value, then I suggest a tweener netbook/laptop. HP and Toshiba have models that BB sells. Check Toshiba and HP. Keep in mind these units don't have an optical drive.

Ok, I'll try to help you.

The first thing is MacBook's (any type) isn't a gaming machine, I would say it's rather a portable workstation or a normal-use (web, music, movies etc) machine. Mac's don't run games so smooth as a PC but on the other hand Windows runs games very smooth (some people think they were made for games) well the answer is no they weren't  it is just like a Mac (but they still are very different OS's) you could play games on both (PC is better with it) but on a Mac graphic/movie creating is way better, this is the difference.

I'll give you a piece of advice, get a console, it's build to do " The Job " and nowadays you can use it like regular computer.

If you want to watch movies and play games then a netbook would not work for you. Way too small for gaming or movies and they usually do not have a dvd drive. If you want to play games then the Alienware would be the best bet.
