I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop that I have had numerous problems with. 1st off the computer would keep restarting after a few minutes upon logging on to windows vista. Thinking maybe running the system restore disks would be a fix, only made things worse. Before vista could be loaded on to the partition it restarted. This happened a few time. So I gave up. Now the computer is requiring a password...I have no idea what it could be or if my sister entered one. I have a thought that maybe the harddrive is corrupted. Until somebody can give me some pointers, I'm not gonna further make things worse. Please help me.

According to your posting, you say your computer is locked out because of a password. Due to legal and security reasons we are not able to help you out with your password problem on these forums. You will need to take in your computer to a repair center or send it in to Toshiba to have it recovered. This is not a free service and is normally not covered under warranty.

Might be a virus or malware. You could check the bios for some stuff.
