Re: Monitor repair?

once the same thing happened to me and I thought it was the minitor but later on i figured out that the electrical cord in the back of the monitor could be loose, or it could also be the vga cable that might be loose, I reccommend that you check them both. if that does not help then the monitor might be malfunctioning.

Yes, there is a charge for GS to diagnose a problem.

Re: Monitor repair?

The majority of the time computer monitors are non-repairable or just too costly to repair. Is it under warranty? If not, then just take the high cost of GS troubleshooting fee and put it towards a new monitor.

Somethings to check though is to make sure the power cable is not loose in the back of the monitor and also the wall outlet.

Re: Monitor repair?

To look at it? Sure we can do that for free. Fixing it will cost you. Usually a lot. Usually a lot more than a new monitor for that matter.

Re: Monitor repair?

Interesting I also have a Gateway monitor that just died on me.  I am interested in replacing it because I hear it is not worth the cost of repair.   This is for a desktop and I have also been looking at a camera to use SKYPE.  Is there a monitor out there that has a camera and a microphone that will replace purchasing both?

Re: Monitor repair?

I can't personally say I've seen any desktop monitors with built in webcams. That's my experience though.
