Mini PCI 802.11b/g/n Laptop Card - How do I know?

I have seen different looking cards for many laptops, as well as a lot of different brands. I am looking for the ideal card that is at least g/n compatible with my laptop.

My laptop is a Compaq Presario CQ60-215DX. The model for my current b/g adapter is an Atheros AR5007.

Can I ask why you are wanting to replace the wireless card? Is there an issue with the built in card?

Re: Mini PCI 802.11b/g/n Laptop Card - How do I know?

I recently bought and installed a new NETGEAR WNR3500 wireless-n capable router. I am still in need of an 802.11g backwards compatible N card for use in public hotspots.

Also, off topic but still related to WiFi. Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the wireless card in a Sony PlayStation 3 for use with wireless-n?

Not sure on the wireless card in the PS3, Nokia may know that one. Why don't you just use a Wireless N PC card or USB card for your laptop? They would be easier to find, install and use.

[ Edited ]

I'm looking at a few PCI-E cards on another website that look very similar to mine. They all are compatible with my laptop brand but the specific model isn't listed. I prefer to just replace the internal card from the bottom of the laptop because, to be honest, I don't like external adapters.

Another semi-related question I just remembered. Is it possible to add a bluetooth card in my laptop internally?

Those Mini PCI cards should work just fine. Adding bluetooth internally would require an additional antenna that is not already in your unit.
