Hi, I'm looking to buy a laptop either a Toshiba, or HP. I just want to do basic stuff download music , and movies . Any suggestions on which model to buy or how much memory I'll need? Thx

Laptops should have 4GB ram standard on every model in the $400 price range with the exception to the rule of Netbooks, which now are starting to include 2GB ram (almost standard on higher priced models) and , budget 15.6" laptops in the $300 range.

4 gigs of RAM will be plenty.

You gotta be asking yourself some REAL laptop questions to get some helpful support here.

Is portability a factor? If it is, size and battery life will be key.

Portability isn't really a factor just using it at home but wanted a laptop opposed to desktop
