I have a new LG 3D LCD TV and a Toshiba laptop.  I want to connect my laptop to TV so I can watch Netflix, I've got the 15 pin connector and have video displayed on the TV no problem.  I don't know how to get the audio off the laptop and onto the TV though.  Laptop doesn't put out enough sound and I need help getting the audio to the laptop!

Use the single output headphones jack on your laptop and connect it to the dual RCA input on the back of the LG 3D TV for the corresponindg VGA input.

I forgot to mention that since this is a new TV, that it probably has a single 3.5mm PC input jack, so you would only have to use the included cable that should have been included with the TV to connect the two devices.  Still using the headphones jack on the laptop, of course.

Hmm.....

I agree laptops speakers are pathetic.  Which Toshiba model is this?  Does it offer surround sound?  If not, consider these devices.

With a 5.1 or 7.1 USB sound card... suddenly your movie has a new dimension as you have rear channels.  As a senior, I really appreciate the vocals on the center channel.

How many channels are available on NetFlix movies?  My DVD's and Blu-Rays sound beautiful.

Wondering if WiDi (Wireless Display) might be an option here.  This would allow you to view streaming movies with Netflix (as well as your digital photo albums, YouTube videos, web sites, etc) from your laptop on your big screen TV without a need for wires/cables. 

We'll need to determine two things:

1.  First, does your Toshiba laptop have WiDi technology built in.  If you tell me the model, I can check for you.  Or, you can take this link to a list of laptops currently for sale at Best Buy with WiDi to see if you can find it there:   http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olstemplatemapper.jsp?id=pcat17080&type=page&qp=q70726f63657373696e67746...

 2.  Second, which LG TV do you have?  LG builds WiDi adapters into some of their TVs now.  That would be the easiest option.  Let's start there.
