Laptop Buying help!

I'm looking for a laptop to use any place in my home.
For internet email and surfing with limited gaming.
I've been researching, reading and looking for months! Need help.

I have Time Warner cable modem internet connection.

I have seen so many reviews, posts and options.
I know all brands have their good and bad points. Gets confusing and stressful in deciding.
Like to stay within and up to $700. Under $700 is allot better.: )

Like to have Dual core or dual 2 duo with at least 2+memory, 2 GHz biggest hard drive possible. A screen size at least 15+" easier to see. Maybe 14+ if price is cheaper.

Can you suggest a brand and model that is reviewed best for my $$$$.

FYI: I have a new Dell desktop and an old desktop that I'm going to hook up for my grandkids.
Suggestions on routers would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Melody

Re: Laptop Buying help!

I'd say you're deciding between these two. The only difference is the more expensive one gives you a 320GB HD compared to 200GB with the cheaper one.

If you're willing to spend a little bit more, you can get this one which has all the same specs as the $600 Toshiba above, but also has a discrete graphics card which will be better for gaming.

Re: Laptop Buying help!

I prefer the Linksys brand over the other brands. The WRT300n is a nice wireless router and they even offer a gigabit version.
