I really really like this one except for the noisy fans Acer is known for. Anyways, I no longer have a USB optical drive for this unit, HOWEVER, I accomplished something on my own tonight.
With my Dynex router, I managed to Network the desktop , the C drive and the DVD Burner Drive so that my Aspire One can see it through a network place. I proceeded to insert a disc, go through the network places, run the auto run , and boom im installing software through my desktop onto the aspire one. Its really not hard to do, and for the first time, Im actually happy I got it running.
Even better it cost me much lesser then one would think. Im not allowed to mention prices or where I bought it, but its a win win situation!

pretty ingenious - i never thought about using the optical drive of a desktop for installs on a driveless machine. i'd probably go through the hassle of getting everything from optical disks to a flash drive.
how do you like the performance of the acer netbook so far? is this your first netbook?

Its working pretty well for now, Mine did come with a dead pixel, of course that was the stores last one in stock which kind of has me on edge. No, Ive had a few Netbooks before, but nothing as special as this.
Im not really noticing any defects for now, So im happy. If something happens within 15 days, I will take the thing back or send it to Acer (Which is what I am going to do anyways.
