I accidently spilled coffee with sugar on my HP Laptop

I accidently spilled coffee on my HP tx1000 (Tablet pc). I took the laptop to best buy for repairs. It was sent out on saturday. I have the service plan and ADH. Also it was an entire cup of coffee.... My questions are.... 1)What are the chances my laptop can be fixed? 2)Has anyone ever had their laptop repaired after a liquid spill, and if so how did it run after that? 3)Has anyone gotten their laptop replaced with the ADH after a liquid spill. Thank You, -Rose

I have repaired laptops that were damaged by a liquid spill. Once you replace the motherboard and hard drive then everything pretty much works like it did before.

Don't worry Rose, ADH will cover anything except fire or floods but that's covered by home owner's insurance :smileywink:

They will try to fix it, if they can't or just think fixing would be more than junking it out, they will just perform a junkout. They will basically give you a laptop with equivalent specifications or the next best!

Warm Regards,

Jason

ADH covers drops and spills not due to negligence or abuse.

All spills are the result of negligence.

No. I wouldn't call this situation negligence. Sitting next to Shamu's tank at Sea World would be negligent. Surfing in a water balloon fight would be negligent. Sitting your laptop right next to your sink while reading a recipe, then dumping a gallon of water and spaghetti is negligent.

Submersion is specifically excluded. If I got my laptop wet at the hands of Shamu, or in a heated balloon fight, you better believe I'd never admit  it. I have assume anyone with any common sense would never admit it either, and the whole event would suddenly turn into a "spill".

None of those incidents is submersion. Also, never underestimate the stupidity of the common man.
