Help netgear

I have a netgear modem combo with the wireless router my issue is that I cannot get my wireless router part to work. The only part I have working is my internet using my ethernet cord. I want to be able to use my wireless part but can't remeber the password an tried to reset the modem to its regualr settings an still nothing called netgear an you have to pay 30.00 just to speak to them. So if anybody knows how to fix this issue for free please help.

Re: Help netgear

If you haven't changed any of the router or wireless settings, the default way to log into your router would be by connecting to 192.168.1.1 and using 'admin' for the login name and 'password' for the password. This will allow you to enable and configure your wireless router.
You can then set an SSID (name of your wireless network) Encryption type (WPA, WEP, WPA2, etc) and a password for your wireless connection. You should also be able to run the CD that came with your modem/router combo to set these settings up.

Re: Help netgear

On the computer, you also have to select your network, connect to it, and enter any requested information.  The computer will probably not just connect autmatically, and won't do so until you tell WIndows that your home network is your preferred network and to connect to it aurtomatically.
