HP Pavillion Notebook, Help

[ Edited ]

I have a HP Pavillion dv9000 notebook,  it completely died on me a few months ago so i had it sent in and i've had it back for maybe 6-7 months and now it won't charge. I have to wiggle the connection when its plugged on just to get it to charge, its been like this for about 2 months now, I don't know if its the cord that is faulty or the connection point, or perhaps both. Not only that my computer is at the point where it won't even turn on anymore, when I do it gives me a message saying it failed to start and I can run system recovery or just normal start- up, however I can't keep it on long enough to do the recovery mode, does anyone know what is going on? Or has anyone with the same computer, had similar problems. Does anyone know how I can fix both of these problems; I am aware i will need to replace either the cord or the connection terminal, I just need to know which one.

Re: HP Pavillion Notebook, Help

If you can get your hands on an extra adapter that you know works, you can test it to see if it is indeed the adapter you have been using, but it sounds as if you have damaged the plug socket and caused a short. It's a VERY easy thing to do. People often do it when they put their notebook down on a table or pick it up improperly.
