HP Laptops

I am narrowing it down to HP, which of these would be recommended among the choices:

New! HP - Pavilion Laptop with Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor - Black/Silver
Model: G70-468nr | SKU: 9398369

New! HP - Pavilion Laptop with AMD Turion™ X2 Ultra Mobile Processor
Model: dv6-1260se | SKU: 9398396 (looks awesome, but not most important factor)

New! HP - Pavilion Laptop with AMD Turion™ X2 Ultra Mobile Processor
Model: dv7-1450US | SKU: 9398387

Thanks for any information.

Re: HP Laptops

Before you buy an HP laptop you should read this from Hp's own website. I wish I would have before I purchased one (not at Best Buy).

And from these customers.

Re: HP Laptops

hey pg. i just posted in your other thread asking which laptops you were considering, and it appears that these are the ones.

are there any specific features that you're looking for in a laptop? great battery life? a big screen for watching movies? a fast processor? the machines you selected are pretty comparable, but it would help to know your most common use case for the machine.

Re: HP Laptops

Battery life is important and good viewing screen.  I drive a truck over the road so I would like to have something fast to be able to connect to internet while traveling.

Thank you.

Re: HP Laptops

ah, that helps to narrow the focus a bit more.

while having a 17" screen is great for viewing purposes, laptops with screens that large typically have shorter battery life than their 14"-16" bretheren. their generally large size (in terms of weight and volume) also make them difficult to travel with from time to time, so that's also something to consider.

of the notebooks that you have compiled so far, i would recommend the dv6-1260se. going with a 15.6" screen instead of a 17" screen should help with battery life, and it'll be easier to take with you.

you seem to be pretty set on hp as a brand, but for what it's worth, the asus ux50 is worth a gander. here's the link:  http://bit.ly/sleek

the asus has the same amount of memory, hard drive space, and screen size as the hp, but it uses an intel core solo (single core) processor. that difference helps the machine to achieve nearly 6 hours of batter life while still offering good performance for watching movies and surfing the web.
