Hey,
Which software are you using that's not compatible with Mac OSX?
Also there is usually always an alternative. One solution is to use Bootcamp, partition a certain amount of harddrive space dedicated for windows and install Windows OS on the partition. Or you can simply use a parallels software such as VM Fusion which will allow you to run Windows OS at the same exact time you're running Mac OSX.
If you're able to get in more detail on which software you're trying to use I can possibly recommend comparable software that will work for Mac OSX for you.

Which model iMac are you using?
As far as word docs are concerned, are you using Mac Office or iWork?
From personal experience running a parallels program does not cause much performance issues. As long as you have at least 2gb of memory you will be fine.
Parallels Desktop 4.0 for Mac $69.99
Parallels Desktop will allow you to run another operating system at the same time in a virtual window.
CrossOver Mac $69.99
CrossOver Mac will allow you to install certain Windows Applications on Mac OSX.
VMware Fusion 2 $79.99
Similar to parallels but is known for it's better performance.
*****Note******
You will need your own copy of Windows XP, Vista, Etc... In order to use a parallels application.

Hello, jbree10.
These are some nice suggestions, but I wanted to address your initial question. The return/exchange policy is 14 days on computers (or 45 days for Reward Zone® Premier Silver members). The store should be able to assist with finding a receipt.

If you decide to go the route of installing the Parallels or VMware Fusion products, VMware offers an ecucation discount, making the price only about $49. If you are a student, always ask for the education ddiscount, as it might save you some money.

Their for my online class... plato. Even just opening word documents from my teachers there are missing pictures that I can't see. I really don't want to spend a whole lot of money buying other softwares plus what I'm afraid of is that I won't have enough space or it's gonna make my computer run slow.
Try Openoffice (www.openoffice.org). Its a free office suite which is compatable with MS documents and files.
