Sad but true : My new Acer Netbook somehow 1 week later exhibited a cracked cord. with exposed wiring. Called up Acer this evening told them about it, and they are shipping out a replacement AC Adapter free of charge without having to send the old one back.

I know everyone thinks Acer lacks in customer support but this did not even take 7 minutes to fulfill.
