It seems as though the screen resolution issue over the P-7805u has yet to be cleared up. I am preparing to purchase the P-7805u FX shortly, and have a question for anyone who has bought
it thus far.
My local Best Buy has the WUXGA 1900 by 1200 version of the laptop on display. If I ask to buy
one, and then ask to perform a functionality test, will it be performed no questions asked?
Also, if the resolution is the WXGA+ 1440 by 900, can I simply state that I want the higher
resolution as displayed and open up more laptops? Will they simply oblige or hassle me?
I assume that the employees won't really know the issue with the displays, and expect some
trouble if I refuse to purchase the first one they open because of screen resolution.

So you are telling me that basically if I ask them to open a box, check the resolution, and it is
1440 by 900, then I have no choice other than to buy it or leave?
Since the display model is the higher resolution, can I not just tell the associate or manager
that if the laptop I purchase is the lower resolution, I want to come back and exchange it for
a different one?
And if all else fails, is it a good idea to simply buy the floor model?
Thanks for you help.

You can exchange it, but I'm sure they'll try to ding you with the restocking fee of 15%(check out the return policy on opened notebooks http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?type=page&
I've been doing extensive research on this very laptop and there are a couple of things that you can do to get one with the 1920x1200 resolution we're all looking for out of this laptop. You can ask the employee to bring you how ever many boxes you want to look at, they might give you the stink eye but they pretty much have to do what you ask if they want your sale. Once you've gotten a box to look at you need to look for the batch number and look for specific batch numbers based on the websites I've listed below. Alternatively you can look at the serial number, which is easier to find. When looking for the serial number you want to look for any of them that 138 or lower in the serial number, should be toward the middle, though I'm not 100%
Here's a list of several website forums with information on how to get the laptop with the resolution you want
