Re: Gaming on PCs

How much do you have to spend, is the better question.

Re: Gaming on PCs

The next question is what do you consider gaming, as in what games? Because $600 isn't going to run a whole lot.

Re: Gaming on PCs

$600 will run "new" games from a few years ago. It will NOT buy you top of the line, nor will it buy you middle of the line.

To buy a "top of the line" desktop will run you upwards of $2000 just for the tower. I just put together my new desktop for about $1600(not including monitors".

Re: Gaming on PCs

If you only have $600 to spend then do not look at buying from a retail store. Maybe you can find someone to build you one. You might be able to build a decent computer with $600

Re: Gaming on PCs

Not really. It sounds like the OP wants a high end machine, pushing a budget, you'd be hard pressed to build a nice "gaming" tower for under $1000.

Re: Gaming on PCs

9677955 Front Detail HP - Pavilion Elite Factory-Refurbished Desktop with AMD Phenom™ II X4 Quad-Core Processor

I was watching this computer when I read your review. You can find it at bestbuy's website.

This computer is for $619. But it all depends for what kind of games you want to play.

If you want to play MW2 or BC2 you really need a PC that has:

  • Direct video memory (at least 2 GB)
  • RAM (at least 8 GB) so it won't freeze
  • processor with at least 2.8 GHZ with a very good cooling system or fan

But, gaming systems are very expensive starting off (if new) at about $1,000

I don't know if you are going to find a computer at that price unless refurbished and if someone builds you one it'll be more than $600 but, if you do please reply

hope I had help:smileywink:

please rate

Re: Gaming on PCs

I cannot build a top of the line gaming computer for $600 but I can build a computer that will play the latest games in the $600-$700 range. It would have alot of cheap components but you can build one in that price range.

Re: Gaming on PCs

Maybe yes. But newer games demand to have better systems so the game won't be flickering or the processor to not overheat and many gamers are used to overclocking their system damaging the processor in the future.
