Did I make the right decision?

I just purchase the Macbook Pro 15 2.66GHZ version. Now i'm feeling that I spent too much money on it. This maybe will just last a year until it officially becomes outdated. Did I make the right choice? I'm just using it for video production.

Bad choice.  The new Macbook Pro should be out soon.

Money is always better spent on a high-end PC laptop since Mac is overpriced proprietary crap:smileyhappy:

What possessed you to buy it in the first place?

Re: Did I make the right decision?

here is the deal on mac books they are like ANY other laptop it really does not matter which brand be it HP DELL ACER/gateway or even sony. which sony is the WORST for proprietory crap and being HEAVILY bogged down with absolutely useless trialware. if you need servcie it has to go back to the factory its like the label on your powersupply "no user servicable parts inside" there are a few things that make macs standout from the rest. the OS X operating system is one it is open source based with a HUGE community following and support. price obviously is much higher than most windows based laptops. support is MUCH better than most other brands this is a fact. ALL the gadgets you need for your i-phone and i-pod is already there. virus' are almost non existing. as for the outdated technology thing even THE LATEST machine off the line will be outdated by the time it leaves shipping. thats only 3 hours.  did you make a good choice as for price to technology? if had the ability to back up the clock i would jump on a mac no questions asked.

I don't see what it being based on open source software has to do with anything. OS X is not open source. And if you call OS X's community huge, what would you call Windows' community? Universal?

If you bought it at Best Buy and didn't get at least 20% off, you definitely paid too much for it.

No, I order it from Macmall and I changed my order to an i5 iMac. (They didn't have the i7 version in stock)

Re: Did I make the right decision?

I'm sure he bought It because of the os, the core duos are outdated yes, but the os by far beats windows. Plus the pros are to be updated in march, so I would've waited.  I also would've found a place that had the i7 if you could afford it. Much better than i5.

The i5 is good enough for me.
