Re: Dell Inspiron laptop

A few questions....

  • how old is your computer?
  • Which inspiron model is this?
  • how much RAM is on it?
  • when was the last time you ran Disk Cleanup?
  • when was the last time you defragged your computer?
  • do you have a lot of programs running in the background?  Try closing some of them.

This happened to me long ago.  Once I free up some memory and removed the temporary files, my machine went back to normal.

Re: Dell Inspiron laptop

Have you ruled out the possibility of your hand/wrist hitting the touchpad?

Re: Dell Inspiron laptop

I would adjust the sensativity of the touchpad and see if there's an option for "palm checking" in the software which controls it.

Although I am employed by Geek Squad my opinions do not in any way shape or form represent Best Buy's Official stance on matters. My opinions are solely my own.

Re: Dell Inspiron laptop

It's usually in control panels or if the computer has a synaptics brand touchpad it's in the synaptics software.
