Crashed Mac, new PC, Mac-formatted external drive

My MacBook Pro crashed and - literally - burned the other day, and I'm getting a new computer this Wednesday, a PC. I have everything up to about two days before the crash backed up - on a Mac-only-readable external drive. Is there any way short of stealing a 500+ GB Mac and reformatting and reloading the thing to get my stuff onto my new PC?

You can usee software like MacDrive to give windows the ability to read and write to that HFS+ formatted external drive you have your backup on.

Although I am employed by Geek Squad my opinions do not in any way shape or form represent Best Buy's Official stance on matters. My opinions are solely my own.

HFS Explorer. Works great, gives you read only access to your OSX drives so you can extract the data.

I already bought a new external, but as my new hard drive is 1TB, I don't feel horrible. Thank you both for the program suggestions, I'll see how they work tomorrow night when I set up my new computer.
