I bought this desktop about a month ago and it ran great up until a few days ago, when it started saying there was an error having to do with ststring.dll, I searched online to find a way to fix it and one was to use CCleaner and delete Dell Datasafe and reinstall it. The problem with that was that the computer wouldn't let me download any programs at all.. The other way was to copy Dell DataSafe on the schedule thing, which is what I did. Now it doesn't say anything about the ststring.dll but it wont let me download anything or open up some of my programs. Is there a way to solve this problem?

What happens when you try to download something? What browser are you using? And can you watch a youtube video or even navigate to a site?

i can use firefox and a few other programs it wont let me dowload anything. Just now i tried downloading CCleaner and when i try it says;

"ShellExecuteEx failed: code 1155.

No application is associated with the specified file for this operation.

Can you download the file or is it preventing you from downloading it. Can you watch a video on the internet?

yes i can watch videos and when i download something it shows the icon on the desktop but it wont let me finish the dowload.

What do you mean finish the download. Is the file completely there and it is just preventing you from executing the program asociated with it or is the file not fully transfered to your computer

It says that it finished downloading but it wont let me execute the program

Hmm. Ok. Try executing it as an admin.

there's no admin option when i right click on programs. and yes, account is admin.
