Hi everyone,
I noticed that the recently announced Asus Eee 1018p and 1015p are up for preorder on the Best Buy website. I was just wondering if the 1016p model would eventually make its way up there as well? If so, does anyone know how soon?
I am hoping to get a netbook before I go back to school in the fall, and have been waiting for one with some higher-end specs (DDR3, Bluetooth 3.0, etc.). I would prefer to buy it through Best Buy so I can get their protection plan in addition to the fact that Best Buy might offer it cheaper than many other places.
Thanks for the help!

DDR3 on an Atom? Pointless, might even degrade performance (DDR3 has higher clock rate, but also higher latency.)

So...does anyone actually have an answer to the question I asked?

The most succinct and accurate answers to your two questions are, respecitvely, "maybe" and "no" (not to mention your first reply, where the answer is also likely to be "no"). This is simply because these days, the corporate HQ sets the drop date for new models, and they have an incredible track record for keeping mum - especially given the negative sales impact of early leaks. ![]()
