Acer Aspire 9300 laptop Monitor is white with vertical gray lines

Can anyone give me an suggestion as to what this problem is and what I need to do to reslove the problem. The cpu works fine just the screen isn't working. thanks

It indicates a hardware defect and requires the screen to be replaced.
