I own a Viper 791XV and awhile back every time I hit the remote, it makes the beep beep sounds that makes me believe the action did not perform. however it actually did. So the 2 way isnt communicating. the functions of the remote work fine however i cannot verify whether it actually performed the action. Do i need to purchase a new remote? If i do, how hard is it to program it to the brain? Please dont tell me I must remove the entire system and return to DEI. HELP please.

Hey masonoff,
Sorry for not getting to your post as of yet. I was trying to track down an answer for you but wasn't finding anything specific.
I can see how you would think it might be a "brain" error with the remote and that would be my guess as well. One thing I would try, and you might have already, is to take the batteries out and then put them back in again... essentially reset the system on the remote. I don't believe that would unlink the remote to your car but it might be worth a shot. Otherwise you could also try DEI's Viper customer support page here:
Our Car Installers might also be a good resource for you to consult with and get their opinion as well. Maybe you could give your local Best Buy store a call.
Let me know if you figure it out!
All the best,
