Viper VSS4000 question...

...If there was ever a time that I needed answers now is the time! I'm from NY but because of my employment I'm in VA.  In NY I alway received the best servicing for my car and I didn't mind paying for it!  I'm in VA and very nervous cause I just don't know!  Anyways...

I drive a 2012 Kia Optima SX Turbo-DGI push-to-start and recently (yesterday) purchased the Viper VSS4000 Smart Start, I set up an appointment to have everything installed Tuesday, Mar 6, 2012.  I purchased the Smart Start, Geek Squad installing, immobilizer and doorlock interface, the trunk relay, and some other relay that the computer said that was needed for my vechicle.   Just like anyone I'm nervous that something may go wrong with the installation.

So, I have a couple of questions and praying that you guys can help!

1.  Is there any reason to be nervous in the first place?  Is it an easy install?

2.  Is there anything I should do before bringing my car to them like taking pics of it? I bought the car on Feb 11, 2012

3.  Can anyone please make a list of questions with the correct answers that can be asked to the installer before he starts working on my car that if answered  correctly will put me more at ease?

That's all the questions I can come up with now.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Billy

PS-I have no problems returning everything.  In fact, BB had to special order everything and it will be in either Fri the 2nd or Monday the 5th!

Re: Viper VSS4000 question...

UPDATE:

Geek Sqad did an EXCELLENT job on installing the Viper VSS4000 on Mar 6th, I'm 100% satisfied!

But, there was one problem!  My car and BBs Immobilizer (Flashlogic FLCAN), the FLCAN does not have the takeover feature meaning the car would remote start from Android app via phone and the spare remote but once the door is opened, the car would shut off and to drive, the car would have to be started from pressing the pts!  Which in my opinion defeats the whole purpose of having a remote start!  I chatted online with a rep from XpressKit.com and no Directed immobilizer bypass has the takeover feature for my particular car!

So, I did some quick research and found out that the FORTIN EVO-ALL is the only immobilizer that has the takeover feature for I believe every car in the US!  The evening of the 6th I had the FORTIN EVO-ALL over-nightted to me via AMAZON.com, received it on the 8th, and had the immobilizers switched out the morning of the 10th!  And, now I can remote start my car from anywhere, unlock my doors and get in and drive away, exactly the way it should work!

The Geek Squad installer was pretty impressed with the FORTIN EVO-ALL!

Anyway, Geek Squad did and EXCELLENT job!  Thanks,  Billy

Billy_2011,

Some of those systems can be pretty complicated. I'm glad to hear you were able to find the right part and get it installed quickly. Thanks for letting us know your experience and how you got it resolved!
