I recently installed the vipoer5706v in a 2003 ram with the dball2
Now when I first tried it all the door locks worked perfect but it wouldn't start-had to program it for autmatic. Now once I did that the doors unlock the way their supposed to but will not lock. The auto start part works fine and I gone over the wiring several times.
Does anyone have any ideas???

Thank you for reaching out to us via the community forums. Since we offer the service of installation I can only direct you to the closest installation bay for your diagnosing and repair. Our rates are $24.99 every 1/4 hour equalling $100, but usually our installers are pretty quick in figuring out what is going on with the system to either fix or find the problem in a reasonable time.
For your inquiry I would have to ask you to visit your local installation bay for any fixes, since no troubleshooting can really be done over the internet accurately. Best of luck!

What I didn't tell you was I'm a mechanic by trade and have installed other units. I do know about diagnosis and the steps that have to be taken to get to a fix and since you in particular are a bestbuy geek you could steer me in the right direction since I have to assume you your one of the techs that actually install these remotes and are not just someone who answers these adds to tell people to take you problem to the nearest bestbuy tech. as I have seen reply to so many others.

I do indeed install these unit, but since we offer the service for installation and diagnostics i would still have to direct you to the closest installation bay. Any of my resources would be proprietary to Best Buy along with the subcriptions that come along with them. As such, any information about "how to" would unfortunately not be able to be answered on this forums.
I apologize for the inconvinence that this may have caused you, but i would recommend contacting Directed's customer support line for more technical assistance, they may be able to direct you to the appropriate place, but that is not guaranteed either. I have gotten into the habit of never troubleshooting over these forums because you honestly never know what you are troubleshooting until you actually see the installation such as connections, components, and hardware used. Sorry for the troubles and best of luck!

The dball2 has a bunch of programmable options that will allow you to set, change, and edit alot of the features on board. Been installing since 2007 and honestly have only ever seen one or two modules go bad in my time. what i have found is that when a "installer" thinks that it is a bad unit, check your connections, because 99.9999999% of the time it is not the case. I would recommend that you also check the last half of your installation manual for the troubleshooting section that the Dball2 provides, with deep explainations on how to troubleshoot and different color LED's to inform you where the programming is not processing.
These forums aren't like your typical forums where techs can bounce ideas off one another, these are here to answer everyday questions about products. I would recommend that you also visit Directed electronics forums to ask some questions there, that is the forums where you would be helped out the most. Since you already have the basic down which is impressive all in its own, i would recommend busting out the multimeter and finding your answers there, if it fails via data then wire it up W2W, so that you don't have to worry about the module failing. If you are still wanting to use the bypass then, a multimeter will not help, and it is something with your firmware or programming that would need to be adjusted. Sorry i am not much help to you outside of that, so i wish you the best of luck and thank you for the time you took to continue to keep me posted!

Now thats better. You're trying to help with knowledgeable answers
As for the troubleshooting-the light on the dball2 gives no codesand there is nothing in the troubleshooting part of the manual that comes close to my issue.
As for using a multimeter and tracing wires to see if everthing was done right-checkecked.rechecked and then checked again.
I'm pretty sure when I tried to program the viper unit with the fob I screwed something up. This valet mode bothers me-don't really know what it's supposed to do?
