I am interested in getting my car stereo system installed, however, I have a question about the subwoofer installation.
The description is fairly vague. It says it costs $19.99 for installation and I've seen some things that say $39.99 for installing two.
What exactly does installation entail? I have a sub box that holds two 12" subs. Is the installation price just for putting the subs in the physical box? If so will I be charged for each sub to be put in the same box?
If I install the 2 subs in the box myself would I still be charged for a sub installation?
At this moment I'm looking at $64.99 for the deck installation, $99.99 for the mono-amp installation, $129.98 for installing 4 interior speakers. I'm trying to get an idea of how much I shoudl expect to spend on all of this.
I do not have any wiring components so what and how much would I likely be looking at accruing? I'm sure I would need to pay for a wiring harness, but what else would I need?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Welcome to the forums!
So you are looking at getting a full system installed in your vehicle? that is exciting! I love the end result after doing a full job like that. With that being said, I would be more than happy to try and answer your question for you.
So you did find most of the pricing for the job but one thing I would need to know is, what kind of vehicle is it? Without that information, I would not be able to answer specifically how much the parts for the vehicle are. I can however give you a overview of the typical cost.
Material fee: $5.00 ( this is for things like zip ties, tape, screws, crimp caps, etc.)
basic in-dash install: 64.99 (non video or touch screen install.)
mono amp install: $99.99
speaker install per pair: 64.99 (so x2)
speaker harness: $13.99 ea. (these cover 2 speakers, so you need 2)
vehicle harness: $16.99-$220 (very much dependent on the vehicle)
dash kit: $16.99- $249.99 (also dependent on the vehicle)
antenna adapter: $13.99 (some vehicles don't need them)
amp kit: $79.99-$149.99 (depending on amp power)
Mount sub install is only if you need the subs installed in the box, so yes, if you install them yourself, there should not be a cost for that, just what is mentioned above. If you do not install the subs into the box, mount dual sub install does apply for two ($39.99), mount single for one ($19.99)
I hope this gives you an idea of the cost but please don't hesitate to ask any further questions or to provide us with the vehicle info. You may have a moderator stopping by to assist as well.
Thanks again for joining the forums and giving me the opportunity to answer this great question!

I have a 1998 Mustang coupe without the Mach audio system.
So far I have purchased the deck (Pioneer DEH-X8800BHS), the amp (Pioneer GM-D9601) 4 speakers for the interior of the car (Pioneer TS-A6886R), 2 subwoofers (Pioneer TSW311D4), I have a sub box that is custom made to fit into my model of Mustang in the trunk that will hold both subs (I'll mount those in myself and run the wires from the subwoofers through the box).
I also purchased 4 Metra 72-5512 speaker wire adaptors for the interior speakers, KnuKonceptz Kolussus 4 Gauge OFC Amp Installion Kit which I researched to make sure they met the requirements of my amp (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005CIJBKK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). I also got a Metra 70-1770 Receiver Wire Harness and a mounting kit (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006JPA1/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1).
I believe that is everything I need (aside from things like ties, tape, screws, caps, etc.)
So it looks as if I'm looking at the $64.99 for deck install, $99.99 for amp install, $129.98 for the 2 sets of interior speakers install, plus the $5.00 material fee.
I know this is only a rough estimate, but it looks like I'm looking at about $300 for the total install if I mount the subs myself about $350 if I don't. I don't believe my car requires an antenna adaptor. I know that the door panels and panel above the back seats need to be removed for the interior speakers.
Is there any items that I'm missing that you can see by the list of things I already purchased? I am trying to gather as much of the supplies as I can as it is usually cheaper to provide them as opposed to paying for them at the time of installation?
Thanks for taking the time to answer my initial post and thanks if you find the time to answer this one.

I am always happy to answer questions about installation! Thanks for providing me with that info.
Based on the items you purchased, you may have everything needed to do the install. The only thing that I would like to point out is the addition of the 4 channel amp you mentioned. The install cost for that is $119.99, it will also require 1 extra set of rca's, multiconductor wire, and a distribution block for the power source.
As far as providing the parts for the install, it may be cheaper to provide them but there may be a bundle deal going that will reduce the cost of not only the parts but the install and sometimes the product it's self.
Based on the vehicle, you have everything needed for the install of the items you mentioned before adding in the 4 channel amp.
Let me know if you have any further questions!
