Re: Viper 4806v issues with 16 Tacoma Ltd.

So for the push to start ignitions, what would actually needs to be done to make the factory keyfob be able to start the vehicle by clicking the lock button 3 times? Is there a certain kit? What's the estimate on cost for this option?

Schroeder please create a new thread instead of piggy backing on another user, many of times these threads do not get responded back to because they have been responded to already.  With that said, you need to be able to provide me with a bit more information.

If you are willing, please create your own thread under the car, marine, gps.  In that thread provide me with the vehicle year, make, and model, along with the options that you are wanting, or have done research on.  In that thread I can generate a proposal, and feedback at my earliest convinence.  Best of luck!

Re: Viper 4806v issues with 16 Tacoma Ltd.

Saying you have a 2016 tacoma and it is a PTS ignition and not a key you should be able to use your lock button 3x to activate the start with the appropriate equipment.  There are some vehicles that do have PTS ignitions that will still not allow us to use this 3x lock option, so it would help to have your exact vehicle year, make, and model, but here is a quick breakdown:

Materials fee $5.00

ALCA $99.99

RSR Install $99.99

TOTAL $204.98

When you do this option the factory remote is your range so if you are happy with that then you are all set.  Should you want more range you can buy any of the Compustar Remote kits (such as this one  or this one) and they can install that at the same time, pairing up those new remotes to give you more range, and possibly 2 way communication depending on which ones you choose.  Should you choose to just use the factory remote for now, that is still a great option that will allow you to upgrade should you need more range in the future.  There is also a 1 mile LCD remote that can be paired up that is currently not available on .com, but is in select stores.

Hope this helps you out, and should I have missed anything do not hesitate to let me know how I may be able to assist you further.  Best of luck!

Re: Viper 4806v issues with 16 Tacoma Ltd.

You might need a hood switch. The last 16 Tacoma I did would not pick up hood data infomation/or have a factory hood pin. If it does not it will would be $9.99 extra.

The remote start will shut down when you open the door. You will need to resart the truck with the push putton to drive away.
