How can I play my ipod in my car? Difficult situation

I have always used the cassette player cord with my ipod but for some reason it wont work anymore... the head phones work just fine but that cassette cord wont work.  I cant use a FM transmitter because the radio in my car doesnt work that great.  Also I dont have a cigarette lighter near the dash that works so i am quickly running out of ideas.  I have seen the car kits and the aux-in plugs and was wondering what would be best  and i would like to spend under $100.  Thanks for the help!

It sounds like most of the stuff in your car is breaking down. There may be an aux kit avaliable for your factory radio. Call your local BB.

Re: How can I play my ipod in my car? Difficult situation

Ok, so I recently was messing around with an aux cord that worked for my ipod since that has been messing up and was wondering if the whole aux kit is the only way to get this to work.  I would imagine it could be a lot cheaper than what I will probably end up paying.

Re: How can I play my ipod in my car? Difficult situation

I have an iPod hook-up in my car that came with my CD player purchase from Crutchfield.  It doesn't plug into the cigarette adapter but into the CD player itself.  The only exposed wire is the cord my iPod hooks to and it's down in my console area out of the way.  The same CD player also has the option of plugging in a flash drive to its external face, which is pretty sweet.  I'm not sure if you're in a place to buy something new, but if you could afford it, I would.  I used the cassette get-up in my old car and the sound quality was terrible so if yours isn't working correctly, it may be time for an upgrade!

Nothing I post is an official statment of Best Buy or Geek Squad, it is only a helpful opinion!
