Cost to install car audio system

Hi,

I want to install 2 component speakers, 2 coaxial speakers, a 5 channel amp, and a 12" subwoofer... How much will this be to install? And what wiring would I need?

Thanks! Smiley Happy

Re: Cost to install car audio system

Hello Growler20-

Thanks for joining the Best Buy forums to ask us for a vehicle proposal.  I'd be more than willing to provide you with a quote for your vehicle specific, including the wiring, but I would first need to gather the:

  • Your vehilce year, make, and model?
  • Your speaker total is just 4.  2 pairs of speakers, 1 pair of component speakers and 1 pair of coaxial speakers, correct?
  • Subwoofer already mounted in box?
  • Are we integrating into your factory radio or is there an aftermarket radio already installed?

Some vehicles may require brackets for component speakers, and also depth starts to play a roll when mounting the tweeters.  If you have any products already chosen, please be sure to let me know so I can build you the most accurate quote.  If this is time sensitive, I would recommend reaching out to your local Best Buy to speak with a Geek Squad Autotech or any Blue Shirt for assistance!

Hi!

1. I have a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze

2. Well there are two "speakers" in the dash corners. 2 "speakers" in each front door and two speakers in each back door. Im not sure if the speakers in the dash are tweeters and the speakers in the front doors are woofers or not. So a total of six I would say. Would it be best to install the tweeters in the dash and the woofers in the door? Then the coaxials in the back... Im not sure.

3. Yes subwoofer already in box.

4. It will be integrating with the factory.

 {removed per forum guidelines}

That link contains all my products Ive chosen. Including brackets and wiring.

Thanks!

Re: Cost to install car audio system

Hello again Growler20-

I've sent an email which would get as close as possible to the most accurate quote I could provide without seeing the products.  With apologies, any linkes external to Best Buy.com is not allowed.  I'm grateful for the opportunity to get the ball rolling for you!

Our Total Tech Support would be offered at select stores across the nation, and I'm excited to see that there are 2 stores nearby which offer this support!  For $200 we include our In-store, over the phone and 24/7 online support for your tech, whether it’s new or old and whether you got it from Best Buy® or not.  There are many other perks for becoming a member, and I wanted to let you know the first quote I sent you is everything including the brackets, harnesses, and installation fees.  The only service that would not be covered  would be the component speaker installation.  If you're wanting to go with component speakers, you would be able to save 20% off the service!

The second email you received was a quote for just the installation services and how much you could save by going to the Sandusky or Findlay locations and becoming a member of our Total Tech Support!  Let me know if you have any questions after you look at the quotes I've sent!

Sincerely,

Re: Cost to install car audio system

Ok so if I understand correctly...

I have all the products needed for the install: wires, harnesses, brackets, 1 pair of components, 1 pair of coaxials, a sub, and an amp. I'm going to keep my factory head unit and have the wire needed to be able to bypass that amount and use my aftermarket stuff.

If I get the TTS, it would be 280? (200 for TTS plus 80 for the components)

Is that correct?

Thanks!

Re: Cost to install car audio system

Hello Growler20-

It is to my understanding that the SKU's I've provided, at the two locations, except for the component speaker installation ($99.99) would be covered under the Total Tech Support plan TTS ($200).  The component speaker installation qualifies for 20% off since it falls under "Advanced," effectively making the specialized installation around $80.  A materials charge fee of $5 would be assessed at the time of all installations.

I wanted to provide you with the first quote, and I would also recommend talking to one of the two stores to confirm you have ALL the additional wires needed to complete a 5 channel amp installation.  It would be disappointing to get a scheduled appointment and then not have the necessary wires in stock because we didn't double-check.

Let me know if you have any other questions after speaking with the Geek Squad Autotech!

Respectfully,
