I very recently picked my new 2017 Honda CIvic and reaized that it does not  come with a cd player. I am one of those that plays and buys Cds. Can I buy a portible cd player and either put it on the dashbord or in the dash board. I don't mean  cheap peice of crap which will fall apart or skip if I go over a bump. ALso one that has diecent sound.

Re: Car CD I need one

It is becoming extinct technology those cd things lol. Media receivers are sweeping the market mostly with the vast amounts of music that can be accessed with a smartphone or MP3 player, but I can understand holding onto the actual cd and the quality that comes with the disc.

With that said, the quality will naturally drop when you have to run it through your auxiliary jack, so honestly I wouldn't sweat the "quality" of the CD player since it really won't make much difference.

Personally you should just pick up any CD player that you see and an auxiliary cord to run it through your radio that way. We carry a dynex brand and a Sony brand for under 40 dollars. The skip shouldn't matter to much unless you are really going "off roaring" your vehicle should have enough stability to keep it from jarring the CD player to much.

Best of luck at getting the one you want and if you have any further questions do not hesitate to let me know and I would be more than happy to follow up with you! Thank you for the time that you took to post and join the community!

Re: Car CD I need one

When my CD player in my 2003 Honda CRV finally bit the dust, I used a portable CD player in the car for awhile and it worked fine.  Never cad trouble with it skipping.  I bought a Sony CD Walkman and it worked fine.  But I have since bought a CD Car Stereo from Best Buy and love it.  It is a pioneer model.  The nice thing is they will install it AND put the orginial stereo unit back in when you go to trade in the car.  But the portable CD player worked for me just fine.

Re: Car CD I need one

I'll also add that the installer where I bought my car stereo in West Lebanon, NH - Paul - did a fantastic job installing the unit and taking time afterward to go over the main features of the new unit and even help me pair up my iPhone with the bluetooth before I left the store.  I had a very positive experience with the whole thing.

And autotech796 didn't pay me a thing to say that!  Smiley Happy  - just passing on the good experience I had.
