Car Alarm

I drive a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier.  I am looking at the Viper 5901V remote starter/car alarm.  The unit itself costs $499.99.  I was wondering what charges would be on top of that to have it completely installed.  I also am looking into getting automatic windows for 2 windows and a sunroof.  I would just like to know how much more it would be to add this feature for both the windows, AND the sunroof.

Re: Car Alarm

I don't know that Best Buy will install a sunroof for you. Your best bet is to call your local store.

Re: Car Alarm

Oh gotcha. I still recommend calling the store you plan on taking it to.

Re: Car Alarm

The labor charges will be 59.99 per module to get them installed. You will also need to pay for the modules.

Re: Car Alarm

The 530t is the module needed for 2-direction operation of 2 windows.  The SKU to search for on bestbuy.com is

1721051.  Typically you would use a 530t for the windows and a 529t for the sunroof, but the 529t is a little harder to get ahold of.  It may be possible to use a second 530t to control the sunroof instead, you would want to check with your local store's Autotechs to make sure.
