Aux Audio amplification

I recently upgraded my car receiver to one with an auxiliary output so I can play music from my phone to my car's system, but I notice that the volume is rather low. Is there a way to amplify the signal in the aux audio cable without having to purchase a $200 amplifier?

Re: Aux Audio amplification

what kind of reciever are you talking about? if you are talking about a transmitter than no.  if you are talking about a modulator, than yes with the gain on the box itself, if you are talking about a cd player than make sure you have your volume up on your ipod or phone (this cannot be controlled by the headunit yourself).  and just letting your know that when you run mp3 it is a much more condensed form than aac (cd's) so the sound quality will be a little less.
