I recently purchased a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire. The owner before me had cut the wires to the radio originally in the car and replaced it with his system. Now that I have bought the car, i have the original radio but all the wires are cut. Can you'll hook this up or would I need to take it to a dealer?

Hello cooljudeblue,
Boy, it's a shame he cut all the wires. I think I would stop in and talk to the Install Bay tech and get their take on the situation. They might be able to hook it up, but they'll need to see what's all involved. I'd start there first.
Good luck!

In case you haven't already talked with an Autotech, it absolutely is possible to wire up the original radio after the harness has been cut. It may require some parts that typically aren't stocked in the install bay but once those parts are attained its very possible for an experienced Autotech to get that wired and working for you. When it comes to wires being cut in the vehicle there are many questions, Do you have the original plug that was cut?, Is there enough wire left on that plug to be installed back into the vehicle? Have any of the circuits been compromised due to the cut harness? Etc. These questions are easiest to be answered by an Autotech that can see exactly what you have then take it from there. Feel free to either answer the questions I posted or ask further questions as necessary. Thanks
