Re: transferring 8mm & VHS to DVD

Hi cfsfirestone,

Without knowing exactly what model Sony DVD recorder you are referring to it would be impossible to get you an answer. We do sell a number of DVD recorders that have a VHS player built into them that are designed to take VHS tapes and record their content onto a DVD. If what you mean by 8mm is Hi8 or 8mm camcorder tape then you should be able to connect the Audio/Visual (A/V) outputs on your camcorder to the A/V inputs on a DVD recorder to record the content of the tapes to a DVD. If you are referring to 8mm film you would need to get the film converted to a digital format, and Best Buy® does not provide this service. If you want any specific advice on the DVD recorder you are referring to just send me a private message with the model number and whatever questions you have, and I will do my best to help!

Thanks for posting,

Allan
