I bought this camera last week, and I didn't have problems with it until yesterday. First, I was taking some pictures, and while taking them, I began to notice that there where some lines appeared on the pictures. The lines are like those that appear when your printer doesn't have any more ink, and you print a picture, and you see those lines that mean that there isn't any more ink. I don't know if it is a function of the camara that is causing it , or is the camera.. The strange thing is that, the lines don't appear in the screen, they only appear when you take the picture... Second, It appears a black spot on the right corner of the camera, like if the lens is broken or something. . I don't know what to do!! HELP please !!
Here are pictures so that you can see it by yourself. Please.. I really need help.

Something definately doesn't look right with those lines. Your camera may have failed in which case needs to be exchanged. There is a small chance it could be a defective memory card but highly unlikely. (I have heard of a similar problem happening with a defective mem card though.)
While both pictures appear to have been taken in relatively low-light situations, low light noise patterns should NOT look like that.
Try taking an outdoors picture without using flash. Don't try to take one of yourself, just because that's hard to do. ![]()
As far as picture 2, are you sure you didn't just put your finger in front of the lens by accident or block the flash (if flash was used)? Shadows like that are very common in cases where the flash unit is blocked by an object. (For example, many pictures taken with the onboard flash of a DSLR have a round shadow at the bottom of the frame if a large wide-angle lens was used because the lens blocks the flash.)

Hi victoriabass,
I agree with Entropy that these images don't look right, and I would suggest having the camera looked at by a digital imaging expert in a Best Buy® store. It looks to me like you have a defective sensor, but this is just a guess on my part. If they can't resolve issue I would suggest exchanging the camera for a new one, but keep in mind if you purchased the camera from Best Buy® you have 14 days to return or exchange the camera. I hope this helps!
Thanks for posting,

While taking the outdoor picture, is the SAME problem, and it's worse.. Here are some WITHOUT flash.
PICTURE 1 without flash ( look at the light quality & at the corners, and i wasn't blocking neither the flash or the lens)

PICTURE 2 ( look at the light )

"
I already tried taking a picture without the memory on, but it's the same problem, I guess it's the camera.
And with the lens problem, no, i didn't put my fingers in neither the flash or lens
it wasn't blocked with any object or anything. (i'm sorry for my bad spelling, i'm from mexico
) Oh yes, and I forgot to add. At the REC mode (video) It has a problem too, I mean, The image sees like deformed or unshaped.

Did you drop the camera?
It looks like the sensor has damage (likely an addressing or data line knocked loose on a connector), and in addition the optics seem to be fouled up (misalignment, vignetting, lack of focus) in a manner consistent with an impact (likely with lens extended).
