Hello,
are there different classes of SD/SDHC memory cards? i bought one for my new Casio Exilim and its a Kingston 4gb and right below that it says class 4.(i havent tried it in the camera yet)
what does that mean, class 4 ? are all SD/SDHC cards compatible with devices that require SD/SDHC cards? or am i missing something?
thanks in advance.
btw, my new camera takes SD or SD/HC cards.
thanks in advance for the help.

The class just refers to the transfer speed. It's only really useful in a camera if you have something with high resolution that is able to take many pictures quickly, or when you're uploading them to your computer.

Thank you for your reply.
so is the class 4 a decent speed for a Casio EX-Z29 camera? what would be the fastest? i know there is a Class 2/4/6/ that i have found.
thanks again.

For a basic point-and-shoot, Class 4 is fine.
Class 6 is really only of value to:
High-end P&S units that save RAW files
DSLRs with high burst speeds
DSLRs set to RAW mode
High definition AVCHD video cameras
