I hope that Sony rep was right. I too am interested in the Nex-5. Best Buy needs to stop adding Nex-3 kits and get the ball rolling on this!

Hi rokeylounge,
Thanks for posting this! I am glad to see that everyone that is still interested in purchasing this camera from us can get this model now.
This digital camera features an 18-55mm lens for capturing stunning images and a 3" tiltable LCD monitor for framing and reviewing your shots. Optical image stabilization reduces blurring caused by camera shake and ensures crystal-clear shots.
Thanks,

I'm glad to see this finally come to a good end, took a bit of time, but I didn't intend to buy until Christmas time anyways. It's great to see the support this thread had, knowing how small the digital imaging forum is. Heck if you even search on Google "best buy nex-5" you'll see it as the third search result. I can only hope Best Buy corporate pays some attention towards this as the popularity of forums increases.
On a side note, I also hope the best of luck to the Panasonic GH1 crowd as their thread has double the viewers as this one as well as more replies, though really with the GH2 out the title should be changed to the newer model.

Any possible ETA on this hitting the brick and mortar stores (hopefully somewhere in Austin)? I like to support my local Best Buy. Also, any idea when this thing would start shipping? It's showing a pre-order status right now.

Love the idea of the Nex 3/5. I plan to purchase it this week, but I am curious, since it's called the "Alpha" nex 5, does this mean I could attach any sony alpha lense to it?
And if anyone here has actually purchased the camera, is it true that the pics come out just as good as pics with an SLR?? Any info is much appreciated ![]()
