Hi GW,
On Canon's website they say the Canon SX1 IS should be released to the U.S. market in April this year, but they don't give an exact date. I will send you a message once this camera is available for purchase from Best Buy®.
Thanks for posting,

Hi Everyone,
I finally have a conclusive answer on when or if we will be selling the Canon SX1IS camera and the answer unfortunately is that Best Buy® does not at this time plan on offering this camera for sale. This does not mean that we will never sell this camera, but for the foreseeable future we have no plans of offering this camera for sale.
We do sell the Canon SX10IS which is basically the same camera without the ability to capture HD video or still images in RAW format. I can personally live without the ability to shoot in HD, but the benefits of recording your images in RAW cannot be denied. The SX10IS sells for $399.99 on BestBuy.com and I am seeing the SX1IS selling for around $600 at other retailers. Is $200 worth the addition of HD video and RAW image capability? I guess that depends on the purchasers needs and of course their pocketbook.
We are selling the new Canon T1i DSLR for $799.99 which is also capable of capturing HD video and still images in RAW, and being a DSLR has many more advantages over the SX1IS. If you can afford the extra $200 it would cost to get the T1i (rather than the SX1IS) I would suggest doing it. A DSLR has a much larger sensor and is capable of far superior results than any Point and Shoot camera.
Thanks for your patience,
Allan
