Will Best Buy sell the new Olympus Stylus Tough 8000 in BLUE?

I want to order one ASAP.

Best Buy® is constantly updating its product offerings, and due to the popularity of the previous Olympus Tough series models (SW series cameras) I'm confident that we will most likely be offering this camera for sale soon. I don't have a specific date that we will be offering this camera for sale. I would just keep your eyes open!
 
I prefer DSLR cameras, but if I was in the market for a point and shoot camera this camera would definitely be up for consideration!

I'm afraid I would like a more nuanced response than that.

Currently many online retailers (B&H, Adorama, A maz on, etc) are already taking pre-orders for the Olympus Stylus TOUGH-8000 in Black and Silver, but not BLUE.   When I contacted Olympus about this, they told me that the BLUE model was going to be an exclusive with Best Buy.

I would like you to look into this, and confirm or refute this claim.

I prefer the Blue one (it's a gift) and would be happy to order from Best Buy... but if I can't confirm this with reasonable assurance, I'll just give up and order the Black one from A maz on.

I apologize if my response wasn't able to confirm beyond a shadow of a doubt that we would be selling the blue model of the Olympus Tough-8000, but at this time that I can't confirm that we will be carrying that exact model. It does sound like Olympus has confirmed to you that we will be carrying that model, and that information is most likely accurate. I'm sorry I can't be more specific!

What is taking so long?

Other online retailers have been taking orders for this model in Black and Silver for over a month, and have already started shipping.

Best Buy seems to be wasting this "exclusive" on the Blue...

I apologize for not responding to yeldarb's post, but I have actually answered this question with two previous posts in this thread. I can understand customer's wanting to know when the next product offerings by manufacturer's will be available for purchase from Best Buy®, but that is competitive information that Best Buy® does not share with the public. I will never be able to say when the Olympus Stylus Tough 8000 will be available for purchase from Best Buy® until it is available for purchase from Best Buy®. I know some retailers allow preorders on digital cameras, but Best Buy® does not allow pre-orders on digital cameras. I really do wish I could be more help in answering your question!

Yeah, and this Best Buy policy is stupid.  They are undoubtedly losing sales to lots of people who may not care that much about the color and will just buy Silver or Black elsewhere.

Maybe Best Buy is headed down the path of C ircuit  C ity...

BTW, I have since read on another forum that (per Olympus) this Blue model should be available in most Best Buy stores by March 16th.

I really am sorry that I was not able to provide you with a specific that we would start to sell the blue Olympus Stylus Tough 8000, but I can tell you that this camera is available for sale now. This camera is also available for purchase in black and silver.
