I need to buy a camera for my employer that allows the user to record audio over stills.  We have an old Sony DSC-F717 (discontinued in 2004) with this ability but it is time to upgrade.  Need this option for documentation purposes.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  Thank you.

To be honest I have never heard of a camera that did this inherently, and it sounds like something that might be easier to be done in a video editing program. You should be able to record the audio and then input that audio along with a still image in a video editing program. Not sure if this is what you're getting at, but I don't believe there is a camera on the current market that would have this function.
