Hi,
My mom bought a Kodak Digital Camera on April 20, 2009 at Best Buy, Miami. The receipt number is *** *** ****. Also Val# ****-****-****-****.
The only problem I am having is the battery charging. The battery is not being fully charged and its not lasting long, 20 mins or less. I put in the new battery she bought with the camera and its the same.
When I plug it in to charge the light blinks for about 15 mins the go off, HELP PLEASE. I love this camera and would like to get the opportunity to use the video features.
thanks Paul.

Hi xpjamaica,
The expected battery life for the Li-Ion rechargeable battery that comes with your camera is between 280-340 pictures per charge, and keep in mind that this is just an estimate since there are many factors that affect battery life on a camera.
I would suggest looking at page 32 of your manual which suggests some power-saving features of your camera. If this doesn't help I would suggest bring the camera into the store you purchased the camera from and having a Digital Camera expert in our store look at the camera.
If both batteries are not holding a charge my guess would be that there is something wrong with the camera. I hope this helps!
Thanks for posting,
Allan

I followed the manual re charging the cam should the little battery icon show full white when fully charged?
Also there is a noise I keep hearing when reviewing the pictures and when I play the video clips taken with it, what could that be?

Hi xpjamaica,
The battery charging light, which is on the top of your camera, blinks when the camera is charging and glows steady when the camera is charged.
Digital Cameras make very little noise. The only noises you should hear is the noise of the shutter, the noise of the lens zooming in and out, and various other alerts that can usually be turned on or off. These alert noises are almost always a single beep or combination of beeps. If your camera is making noises other than these I would have it looked at by a digital camera expert in your local Best Buy® store to make sure your camera is operating properly.
Thanks,
Allan

Nearly all point-and-shoots have an electronic shutter, so will be silent unless the "fake shutter" sound is enabled. (most point and shoots have a "fake shutter" sound that is on by default.)

Hi xpjamaica,
I'll be honest there is not much I can do for you here other than guess what is causing the charge on your battery to deplete quickly. This is why I suggested you have a digital imaging expert in our store look at the camera. If the digital imaging expert in the store had believed the camera was defective they would have sent it out for service under the manufacturer’s warranty. I would suggest going to Kodak's technical support site and have them help you troubleshoot your camera. If they can't provide you a solution to this problem, they will give you options for how to proceed further. You could also try calling Kodak technical support at 1-800-235-6325.
I do have to say that if Kodak determines that the camera is defective they would require you to ship the camera to a U.S. service center, and it would need to be shipped from a U.S. address. If this ends up being the case send me a private message by logging into the forum, clicking on my icon, and then clicking on the send this user a private message link and I will see what I can do to help.
Thanks,
Allan
