I HAVE A KODAK EASYSHARE DX7630 CAMERA THAT CHARGES ON A KODAK EASYSHARE PRINTER DOCK PLUS. HAVING ISSUES WITH BATTERY NOT CHARGING? CAMERA WILL COME ON BRIEFLY WITH RED LIGHT FLASHING THEN GOES OFF. SHUTTER DOES NOT COME OUT. JUST REPLACED BATTERY ABOUT A MONTH AGO SO THERE SHOULDNT BE A PROBLEM WITH BATTERY I WOULDNT THINK? I THINK IT CAME FROM BEST BUY. WONDERING IF IT WOULD BE COST EFFECTIVE TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT WITH BEST BUY OR JUST PURCHASE A NEW DIGITAL CAMERA?  I USE THIS CAMERA AT MY PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT FOR TAKING PHOTOS FOR ID TAGS. HELP??

Did a google.... this camera is a 6mp camera using a lithium battery...

For a camera that came out in 2004.... I think your lithium battery is just too old....

In my opinion.... get a new camera.

BTW.... if you plan to keep your camera for a long time... get yourself a replacement camera that takes AA's and feed it Sanyo "Eneloop" rechargeables.  When your batteries do wear out... it costs less than a Japadog to replace.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE INFO. I HAVE REPLACED BATTERY AT LEAST TWICE IN 6 MONTHS. BEFORE THAT IT LASTED A COUPLE OF YEARS? THIS IS FOR COMPANY USE SO I WILL HAVE TO TALK WITH ADMINISTRATOR REGARDING REPLACEMENT (WHICH SEEMS TO BE OBVIOUS)    THANK YOU SO MUCH.

The question is when was the battery manufactured. If the battery has been sitting on the shelf for several years... The battery is not healthy either. If the battery is for a specific camera model, the situation is worse.

This is a big reason why I look for camera's that take AA's. Not because I want to use harmful disposible batteries, but because the replacement rechargeables are so affordable.

I wish Best Buy's website wizard had an option for me to quickly identify cameras that take AA's.

When you do find a AA camera. Avoid Energizer rechargeables. They are the worst and give a bad name to rechargeables. Look for "low-discharge" Eneloops by Sanyo. They are the best. Available at quality camera, battery stores or the Internet. The best chargers are made by Maha. I like their 8 cell smart charger.
