Re: Charging my Insignia camcorder?

Hi suethomas2,

The problem could be that you need a new battery or AC adapter. It could also be a problem with the camcorder itself. I would suggest having it looked at by a digital imaging expert in a Best Buy® store first.

I do see that you purchased this camcorder in February of 2009 which means that it is still covered by the manufacturer's warranty, and any defect should be covered by the warranty. If the problem ends up being a problem with your battery and you need to get a new one the manufacturer's warranty does not cover consumable parts like batteries. If you do need a new battery you could purchase one here.

I hope this helps!

Re: Charging my Insignia camcorder?

Hi dferdman,

If you have been connecting your camcorder to the same USB port each time, I would first suggest connecting it to a different USB port (preferably one on the back of your computer). If this doesn't work I would then suggest you try charging the camcorder with the A/C adapter instead of a USB port. If the A/C adapter won't charge the camcorder and neither will a different USB port your battery is most likely bad.

I would then suggest bringing your camcorder to your local Best Buy® store and have a digital imaging expert look at it. If they find that your camcorder is defective the store could send it out to be serviced under the manufacturer's warranty. If the problem does end up being the battery the manufacturer's warranty doesn't cover replacement of a battery but you could purchase a replacement here. I hope this helps!
