Canon Lenses...

Okay, so here's what I'd like to know.  I'd like to get myself a VERY nice Canon camera, and I guess what I'm wondering is this... My mother has a Canon Rebel 35mm camera, and has extra lenses...  If I were to get a Canon Rebel camera, would her lenses work on my camera?  If not, is there an adapter or something that can be bought to do so?  I just don't want to spend money on lenses if hers will work, and then that way, I can spend more money on the camera itself!  Thanks for the feedback!

Re: Canon Lenses...

Are they autofocus lenses? If they are EF or EF-S mounts, they will work on new Canon DSLRs's.

Re: Canon Lenses...

I recommed testing the lenses on a friend's Canon to see the results

  • some film lenses produce a very soft digital image.  Digital cameras have higher resolutions than film.  You might want to get new lenses.
  • Unless you are getting something full frame, keep in mind Canon Rebel digital cameras use a SMALLER sensor.  As a result, your images have an added 60% added telephoto effect.
