I'm not trying to be sarcastic or anything, but I ask this honestly because I've done it HUNDREDS of times....
Did ya put the batteries in correctly?

Your camera manual suggests to do exactly what Miranda said to do which is make sure the batteries are inserted properly. If this doesn't work and you have tried a brand new set of batteries then I would suggest having the camera looked at an authorized service technician. You could do this by bringing your camera to your local Best Buy® store and they should be able to send it out for service, and if the camera was purchased in the last year any defect should be covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
