Today is a day that we celebrate to show our gratitude for those who have chosen to fight for and serve our country. Many men and women sacrifice their time, family, friends, and so much more in order to be a voice and protective force for our country. Although we should be thankful for these people every day of the year, this is a special day to show our gratitude and to recognize those who make the choice to fight for each and every one of us.
Many military members struggle to find careers outside of the military. Best Buy understands how valuable members of the military are and has made many movements to open the doors to veterans who are seeking a job outside of their military career. Those who serve in our military are highly trained and developed to be strong leaders with excellent discipline. Best Buy sees the value in this and recognizes how much members of our military are able to contribute and succeed within our workforce. We have adjusted our application process to recognize valuable experience that military personal receive while in the military. There is flexible scheduling offered for those who are still on active duty and may have to go for training or may need to take a Leave of Absence in order to serve missions with the military. One of my favorite values that Best Buy has always stood by is to “Show respect, humility, and integrity”. I am proud to say that I work for a company that treats our veterans with respect and works diligently to make Best Buy a career option for those that humbly serve our country. We mustn’t forget the emotional sacrifice that our veterans have made. Veterans Day can trigger soldiers to remember things that are hard to deal with. There are things our veterans have seen that we could never imagine. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is a prevalent condition that many of our military personnel struggle with on a daily basis. This can affect work, family, friendships, and day-to-day living. If you or anyone you know seems to be struggling with this or any other issues, don’t be afraid to ask for help. You are stronger than you think and we are so thankful for all that you have done! Please feel free to use any of the resources that have been added at the end of this article if you feel you may need a little more help dealing with daily life. You are not alone!
To each and every veteran within Best Buy and outside this company, today and every day, we salute you! Thank you for your service. Thank you for your dedication. Thank you for your sacrifice! You have truly made a difference and from all of us at Best Buy, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
I would like to give a special call out to two members of our team who served our country. Megan and Ben, thank you for your dedication and for your desire to not only protect and serve us as members of the military, but also for your dedication and willingness to be such incredible members of this Best Buy family! We are proud of you and fortunate to have each of you.
