The holidays are finally here, and I couldn't be happier about it!  Listening to Christmas music, watching holiday movies, and spending time with loved ones are just a few of my favorite ways to spend these last two months of the year.  You know what else I love about the holidays? Sales!

It's no secret that you can unearth some of the best deals on the latest products in November and December.  Although many promotions can be found online during Cyber Monday, few things can match the energy level of Black Friday.  If you're planning on participating in one of the biggest shopping events of the year, here are some tips that can help you score big with minimal stress.

1. Know before you go.

Put together a list of items that you want to scour the store for, and order them in terms of importance from "must have" to "that'd be a nice stocking stuffer".  This can save you countless time from aimlessly wandering the store and spending more money than you originally planned to.  Be sure to have a backup plan ready as well in case one or more of the items you're dying to get ahold of is not available when you arrive at the store.  Time is of the essence here, people!

2. Eat a good meal beforehand.

Most Best Buy stores open at 5 PM local time on Thanksgiving Day, but that's no excuse for arriving on an empty stomach!  Be sure you've stuffed yourself just like a turkey and fill up on some tasty Thanksgiving delicacies before heading to the store to shop 'til you drop.

3. Skip the lines - Shop online!

If you're like me, you prefer to do your shopping from the comfort of your own home.  Black Friday is no exception, and Best Buy has thousands of deals ready to offer you on our website.  Be sure to check BestBuy.com throughout the day on Thanksgiving and into the morning of Black Friday for online sales.  Keep in mind that items marked as "Sold Out" or "In Store Only" cannot be ordered over the phone.

Last but not least, be sure to check out our Doorbusters & Black Friday FAQ, which is loaded with important information that we hope will be useful when planning your retail excursions.  Let us know what deals you have your eye on in the comments below, and be sure to post your questions in our Holiday Support 2017 boards if you need any specific assistance.
