Getting through the first couple of months with your brand new baby can be tough. Today, as I celebrate surviving my first year of parenthood, I’d love to share with you some of the products that really helped me along the way.

Levana- Amara 7” Touchscreen Video Baby Monitor

I love our video monitor, but we purchased the 2016 one. It’s great as it can remotely pan & tilt. The upgraded 2017 verison looks even better! My favorite feature is it uses a signal a lot like Bluetooth, and will only sync the monitor & camera together.  Setting it up is so easy; we took it with when visit grandparents, and to our family cabin.

Snuza-Go! Sleep Tracker

My little one started sleeping through the night at only 6 weeks old. Lucky, right? I was extremely grateful for the extra ZZZ’s, but being in a prime SIDs incident age group I was super concerned. By using a Snuza, I was able to sleep peacefully. Snuza is an activity monitor, like a FitBit, that clips to your baby’s diaper and monitors their breaths. If no abdominal motion occurs for a selected period of time an alarm will go off alerting you to check on your little one.

Tile- Tile Mate Item Tracker

Does anyone seem to be more forgetful than usual? This item is a keeper for anyone who’s forgetful, or someone who just has a lot on their plate. I connected one to my keys, wallet, and have the Tile application on my phone. If I can find one of those items I can find the others. (I’m not going to lie I may have thought to attach the extra one to my daughter’s pacifier, but I decided it may not be safe to do that! The things you consider when your child starts to whip their comfort items across the room at 4 AM, and you have no clue where to start looking for them.)

Crane Droplet Ultrasonic 0.5 Gal. Cool Mist Humidifier

Keeping your baby’s sleep environment perfect for them is very important! Moisture in the air can help them breathe with ease, plus can really make a difference when your little one has their first cold. Since we didn’t know what we were having we opted into getting a white one that’s the correct size for the baby’s nursery. There’s these really cute animal ones to choose from too!

Fisher-Price Deluxe Newborn Auto Rock ‘n Play Sleeper

The Fisher-Price Rock ‘n Play was our saving grace within the first couple of months. Any extra sleep was attributed to our babe feeling safe, and swaddled in this. She also loved the vibrations. A cool new feature on the 2017 model is that you can control it with your phone via an APP!

Check out’s Smart Nursery selection! Products are being added on an ongoing basis, and some I wish were available when my daughter was born a year ago.
