I need this fixed.

I am upset. I called, per instructions, on Sunday, 9/10 to order a replacement freezer and the same extended protection plan. I was informed this would be done and delivery was set for Tuesday, 9/12. I received an email showing receipt but there was no extended protection plan listed. I called back and was told the first person I spoke to was in error but now I have to go into the store to purachase same. Lovely.  I do not drive highways (vertigo) and do not have any one to drive me, unless I pay them. Which is why I buy most online. 

Today, I received a credit for $59.99: "Maureen, we've applied credit to your order. You're receiving this credit because the returned item was not processed correctly.   Credit Amount Applied: $59.99. ."

I called Geek Squad to ask if I could purchase the plan through them. Man said he would (couldn't understand much of what he said) switch me to (didn't catch the who). I was on hold and then disconnected. 

 

So, you want me to pay someone to drive me to the local Best Buy when your company made the error. I am really more than upset. I will be 84 in December and remember when this would have been rectified immediately- when companies were serice organizations. 

I have spent valuable time on the phone trying to resolve this. 

 

Even more frustrating as I was a Quality/Risk Manager/more before I retired at 73.

Welcome to our Community. Geek Squad Protection (GSP) is a great way to ensure your new appliance keeps working well for its entire lifetime. While I was happy to read that your intent was to purchase it for your new freezer, I was disappointed to hear that it was not included with your order. I regret any inconvenience to you as a result.

 

With apologies, you have been informed correctly: our agreements with the underwriter of GSP dictates the conditions under which coverage can be sold. If the plan is not included in an online order prior to delivery, it can not be sold after the fact online or by telephone. It can only be purchased through a Best Buy store.

 

I understand the logistical issues you've mentioned, and were there another option I would offer it.

Will I still be able to purchase it in the store if I already have the freezer? I think someone from Best Buy should drive me there and back.

You should be able to purchase Geek Squad Protection for your freezer at your local store without issue. Just bring along your BestBuy.com order number. Please bear in mind that your purchase of GSP must be within the 15 day return period for the product as reckoned from your date of delivery.
