Getting Package from Best Buy but no info

Hello, maybe i can get some answers here so tonight i recieved a email from UPS stating that i am getting a package, a 25 pound package to be exact from Best buy, i was very confused as to how this even occured i dont have a best buy account and i dont even shop at best buy, i called ups there is in fact a package coming to my home, so i called besr buy. They cant find a single trace of this so called package! Nothing at all, now i called ups back and asked what could happen they couldnt really tell me besides dont open it and send it back. So its suppose to come tomorrow at some point and quite frankly im a little nervous because it cant even be traced heres what the ups people told me it came from "BBY.COM/DC 70 BBFB DS" i did some research nothing came up besides best buy corporate website which also got me nowhere at all! Im very very nervous.

That package appears to be coming from one of our warehouses, BBFB is our Business team. Did you recently redeem points with a rewards program somewhere? A lot of big companies use our business team to supply the products to fulfill reward offers. This is about the only thing I can think of besides a mid-addressed package. A lot of larger companies have a team of people associated with the account to place orders. It is somewhat common that they forget to update their addresses leading to a package being sent to the wrong location. Keeping it unopened and refusing/ returning it would be the best in those instances.

I dont have any type of best buy account and it has all my right Information on it, name, address, telephone # but the funny thing is, the email i use for the ups website is on i dont really ever use..

Hmm, if you didn’t redeem any rewards via another company then I am at a loss. Since you stated that they used your full info, have you validated that you have no strange credit card charges? It is entirely possible that if your information leaked that someone placed an order posing as you. The typical scenario is that they try to intercept or redirect the package on the way.

I dont have any charges on any of my cards, i checked all accounts and there is nothing.

Slightly, makes me very nervous i asked family and friends if they possibly shipped something to me and they all said no.

Welcome to our Support Forums.  Admittedly, I would be a bit confused if I received an email from UPS indicating a package was about to be delivered to me, after not placing any recent orders.  I completely understand any confusion you might be feeling after receiving such an email, and I’ll be happy to help address any concerns you may have.

 

First and foremost, if UPS does attempt to deliver this package to you, the easiest option you may have would be to refuse its delivery, so it might be sent back to us.  However, if the package has already been dropped off, please utilize our Return & Exchange Promise to return the order back to us as soon as possible.

 

Additionally, although it sounds like you’ve checked your credit card statements to make sure there aren’t any charges on your cards, I would recommend double checking with your bank and credit card company to ensure there haven’t been any new accounts opened using your information.  If you do discover any accounts have been opened, or charges on your accounts submitted without your consent, be sure to dispute these transactions with the appropriate financial institution.
